Yosemite
National Park - Yosemite National Park
embraces a spectacular tract of mountain-and-valley
scenery in the Sierra Nevada, which was set aside
as a national park in 1890. The park harbors a grand
collection of waterfalls, meadows, and forests that
include groves of giant sequoias, the world's largest
living things.
Highlights
of the park include Yosemite Valley, and its high
cliffs and waterfalls; Wawona's history center and
historic hotel; the Mariposa Grove, which contains
hundreds of ancient giant sequoias; Glacier Point's
(summer-fall) spectacular view of Yosemite Valley
and the high country; Tuolumne Meadows (summer-fall),
a large subalpine meadow surrounded by mountain peaks;
and Hetch Hetchy, a reservoir in a valley considered
a twin of Yosemite Valley.
Knights
Ferry - 1849 mining town on the Stanislaus
River, still scene of mining, sand and gravel activity.
Some farming. The town of Knights Ferry was named
after its founder and original settler, Captain William
Knight, who had crossed plans with Captain Freemont.
Knight operated a ferry and a trading post at the
site. The name “Dentville” was attached
to the mining community for a short period, in honor
of John Dent who surveyed the townsite in 1852. Today,
Knights Ferry is known for it's covered bridge, the
longest in California, as well as it's rafting and
hiking opportunities.
Historic
Downtown Turlock - Downtown Turlock
is the place to shop! The Historic Downtown just underwent
a multi-million dollar renovation, making it a must
see in Turlock. With antique shops, café’s
and clothiers, downtown Turlock offers the true “main
street” experience.
Sierra
Railroad Dinner Train - A variety of
scenic and entertaining train rides every week of
the year between Oakdale and Sonora. The most popular
is the sunset dinner train every Saturday. Oakdale
is only a short 20 minute drive from Turlock.

Modesto
Nuts Baseball - The Single-A California
League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies Professional
Baseball Team. At the games, enjoy great food, an
intimate environment and giveaways! Fireworks shows
are on the schedule as well. For individual game or

Pedretti
Sports Complex - Known as one of the
best maintained sports complexes in the state, Pedretti
Sports Complex includes four softball fields, a hardball
field, batting cages, three grass volleyball courts,
a concession stand, covered bleachers, drinking fountains,
picnic areas, a large covered picnic area, which can
be reserved for special events, a fully accessible
tot playground area, hundreds of shade trees and two

Creekside
Golf Course - Modesto's newest course,
Creekside offers a test for every club in your bag!
Three lakes, intricately contoured bunkers, narrow
fairways and fast, expansive greens make this an 18-hole
course suited to the experienced golfer. Call (209)

Dryden
Park Golf Course - This course borders
the Tuolumne River, with mature pines and oaks winding
emerald fairways. Beginners and experts who prefer
a more traditional round of golf will appreciate the
medium-sized greens and small bunkers on this 18-hole

Turlock
Golf & Country Club - This is
a straightforward course with no tricks. The terrain
is primarily flat, and the fairways are tree lined.
There are water hazards that come into play on several
holes. The signature hole is #14, a 355-yard, par
4, requiring an approach shot over water. The club
hosted The NCAA Division II Men's Championship. For
